Agribusiness Lawyers
The agribusiness lawyers at Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. (SHB) are part of the SHB Agribusiness & Food Safety Practice. Together with the firm?s research analysts, who hold advanced degrees in agriculture, biology and genetics, our agribusiness lawyers assist clients with complex litigation, corporate transactions, electronic discovery, environmental challenges, food safety concerns, insurance and recoupment, intellectual property issues, and labor and employment matters.
Our agribusiness lawyers often work in conjunction with SHB attorneys that specialize in two fields closely related to Agribusiness & Food Safety--Environmental Law and Climate Change & Sustainability. We have successfully handled environmental and toxic tort cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as before administrative tribunals in more than a dozen states. As the ?green? initiative grows stronger and more important, we continue to work closely with our clients to assess corporate operations and strategic planning in light of both government and private environmental actions. At the forefront of this rapidly-evolving legal field, we provide our clients with the tools to develop growth areas, enter new markets and enhance profitability while maintaining a proactive outlook on resolving sustainability issues.
Our agribusiness lawyers and associated counsel bring our experience to bear on some of the most challenging agribusiness, environmental and climate change & sustainability legal issues of the day.
Our agribusiness lawyers are led by Madeleine McDonough. She is an elected member of the firm's Executive Committee and divides her time between the firm's Kansas City and Washington, D. C. offices.
