Biography
Thérèse was a technology and systems analyst by training before she obtained her law degree. Her undergraduate degree in management information systems makes her the perfect liaison between information technology personnel and corporate decision makers. She advises clients on electronic data management and information law relative to e-discovery, cyber security, data privacy, records and information management, employment law considerations, and information technology issues. Thérèse focuses on matters concerning the Internet and computers, including addressing disputes involving domain names, Internet service providers, web sites, and file sharing. Thérèse has particular experience in advising on security and management risks associated with emerging technologies, such as mobile device management and B.Y.O.D., social media and cloud computing. Thérèse is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
A member of the firm’s Tort Practice, eDiscovery, Data & Document Management Group, Business Records Management & Consultation Practice and Data Security & Privacy Practice, Thérèse has litigated matters involving trademark and trade dress, patent, copyright, unfair competition, trade secrets, employment-related matters, products liability, and respiratory cases. She has also been trial counsel in defamation and trademark-infringement matters.
Thérèse is a Most Outstanding Management Information Systems (M.I.S.) Graduate from The University of Tulsa (1998). During law school, she was associate development editor on the Tulsa Law Review and a member of the Order of the Curule Chair. She also received the Fenelon Boesche Award and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Constitutional Law I and II. Thérèse served as a judicial intern for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and a researcher for the courts. Before starting her legal practice, Thérèse worked as primary web developer for both CITGO Petroleum Corporation and the University of Tulsa.
Thérèse is actively committed to pro bono activities. She has served as counsel in guardianships, juvenile delinquent and death penalty cases. Committed to promoting diversity, inclusion and mentoring initiatives, she received the Shook Hardy & Bacon Mosaic Award for Diversity in 2005. Thérèse is fluent in French.
