Biography

Jennifer's practice focuses on the defense of corporations in complex tort and product liability matters. With significant experience in all stages of litigation, she has successfully represented clients in both bench and jury trials, and on appeal. She has particular expertise involving proposals for settlement under Florida law, excluding expert witnesses, and removing cases to federal court. Jennifer was named a 2010 "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers.

Jennifer recently second chaired a five-day legal malpractice trial in which the jury returned a defense verdict after deliberating for one hour. She has also argued an appeal on behalf of a Fortune 10 company before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeals, which affirmed the final summary judgment in the client’s favor. In addition, Jennifer has served on two trial teams representing tobacco companies in wrongful death lawsuits involving second-hand smoke. Most recently, Jennifer was instrumental in obtaining a final summary judgment in favor of a tobacco company in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Jennifer currently serves on the SHB Pro Bono Committee and the SHB Diversity Committee. In 2008, she was individually recognized by the Supreme Court of Florida, the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar and the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association for exceptional pro bono service. She is also an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association's Community Service Committee.

Jennifer graduated second in her class at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, she served as the research editor of the Florida Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
