Williams: Relationships Are Key to Successful, Fulfilled Career

For lawyers, relationships are paramount for both building business and for finding purpose and career fulfillment. Shook General Liability Litigation Practice Group Co-Chair Paul Williams discusses relationships in a chapter he authored for a book titled “Preparing for Partnership: A Guide to Achieving Partnership in a Law Firm.”

The book outlines critical factors for lawyers’ success. In his chapter, Williams writes about how relationships begin, how to cultivate relationships, as well as the power and privilege of relationships. He notes that it’s never too late to develop relationships, and that the investment of time and effort is worth attorneys’ while.

“Having one (and even better 6 or 10 or 20) robust client relationships can be as liberating as it is rewarding in your career and in your professional (and personal) life,” he said.
