Shook Philadelphia is a dynamic, value-focused platform for lawyers with local, regional, and national practices. We represent clients based in our home region, as well as clients from around the country who have legal problems venued in the tri-state region.
Shook’s Philadelphia office, which opened in 2012 and has grown to eight attorneys, is well positioned to offer legal services to a wide array of clients. Philadelphia attorneys currently represent clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and the consumer products, food and beverage, banking, chemical, construction, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights fields. Shook’s Philadelphia-based attorneys work in the areas of product liability, commercial litigation, toxic torts, FDA and other regulatory matters, labor and employment, and eDiscovery.
Our Philadelphia attorneys bring a wealth of experience from a wide range of previous positions, including as Assistant U.S. Attorney, senior counsel and global discovery manager for a Fortune 100 manufacturing company, a registered pharmacist, and a former investment banker.
Most of Shook’s Philadelphia team members are home-grown in the Delaware Valley. While some firms open offices in new geographic markets by transplanting groups of lawyers, our local roots support our goal to be a fixture in the local legal community. Shook Philadelphia aims to be the best of both worlds: a close and collegial office, with the integrated resources and capacity of a national firm.
Shook Philadelphia’s growing reputation recognition includes accolades for our product liability and mass tort litigation practice from Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Our attorneys are consistently ranked among Pennsylvania’s best practitioners in numerous practice areas; The Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500 United States have recognized Shook Philadelphia attorneys for product liability and mass tort defense in the areas of toxic tort and consumer products.
The office’s commitment to Philadelphia’s community is also evident in the civic activities of the attorneys, who volunteer with local organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the Bethesda Project, Women in Bio (WIB), and the National Kidney Foundation chapter serving the Delaware Valley.
