Soto Speaks on Insurance Carrier Bad Faith Jury Trials

New York, NY

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Miami Partner Miranda Lundeen Soto serves as a panelist at the 2015 CLM Extra-Contractual New York Conference on December 3.

Soto’s discussion, titled “Personalizing the Insurance Carrier in Bad Faith Litigation: Putting a Face on the Company and Avoiding Being Branded as the Uncaring Corporate Monster,” faces head-on the challenges that insurance carriers often face in bad faith jury trials. Panelists cover numerous tactics, including considering carefully who serves as the corporate representative at trial, innovative approaches to jury voir dire, and demonstrative exhibits, all aimed to show at trial that the insurer acted ethically, properly, and made the correct claim decision.

Soto is joined on the panel by Jill Mercer, Nationwide Insurance Company; Matthew J. Smith, Smith, Rolfes, & Skavdahl; and Jennifer Wojciechowski, Community Association Underwriters of America, Inc.
