Carew to Address Cultural Fluency and Communication at DRI Women in the Law Seminar

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Director of Strategic Diversity Initiatives Kori Carew will join three other law firm leaders in presenting a “quick takes” program at the DRI Women in the Law Seminar on February 1-3, 2017, in Scottsdale, Arizona. “Effective Advocacy: Taking It to the Next Level” will include individual sessions highlighting the importance of “improving verbal advocacy skills in court, in person, and on the phone.”

Titled “Making Communication Translate: You Say Tomaydo, I Say Tohmahtoh,” Carew’s presentation will examine how to communicate effectively across cultural differences and the importance of cultural fluency to leadership. It provides a variety of conceptual frameworks for assessing communication styles and contexts across cultures, institutions and situations.

Shook Partner Janet Hickson is program co-chair of the event.
