The HistoryMakers to Feature Shook Partner Jon Gray

The HistoryMakers, which is the nation’s largest African American video oral history collection, will feature Shook Partner Jon Gray in one of its biographies.  The educational institution is known for its compelling personal stories of well-known and unsung African American heroes.

Gray joined Shook in 2007 after serving for more than 20 years as a circuit judge in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit of Missouri. A crew from Chicago recently visited Kansas City to interview Gray and others about their life experiences.

“If I can inspire one young person to consider the field of law, I will have completed my goal,” stated Gray. “It was an honor to be selected.”

The HistoryMakers features have included educators, ministers, doctors, musicians, scientists, athletes and politicians including President Barack Obama.

You will be able to see Gray’s life story at the Library of Congress and featured on The HistoryMakers website sometime in 2020.
