Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Selects Shook Attorneys for Development Programs
The Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) has selected Partner Matt DePaz and Associates Nalani Crisologo and Sangeeta Shastry to support their goal of advancing diversity in the legal profession.
Crisologo and Shastry were selected as Pathfinders as they have been identified as diverse, early-career emerging leaders who have distinguished, or have the potential to distinguish, themselves within their organizations. Both associates will enter a seven-month professional program that provides participants with practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks, leadership skills and an understanding of career development strategies.
The LCLD is an organization of more than 400 corporate members who pledge to create a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. DePaz has been designated an LCLD Fellow, and will participate in training sessions and have opportunities to interact with key legal and business leaders of large U.S. corporations as well as managing partners from the country’s most prestigious law firms. The program, specifically designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience, connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel and managing partners and their peers for mentoring and career insights.
Shook is also committed to advocating for a diverse generation of lawyers, and the firm nominated DePaz, Crisologo and Shastry for the LCLD programs as part of its commitment to make history by bringing more diversity to the U.S. legal profession and justice system. The ultimate goal, for both Shook and LCLD, is to build a more equitable and diverse legal profession through mentorship and professional development.
