Jolie Justus Honored Among Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40

The National LGBT Bar Association has named SHB Director of Pro Bono Services Jolie Justus to its inaugural class of Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40. The award recognizes lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender legal professionals who have distinguished themselves in their fields and demonstrated unwavering dedication to the achievement of LGBT equality.

“The LGBT community is very diverse, and LGBT attorneys can be found in every corner of the legal profession,” D’Arcy Kemnitz, executive director of the National LGBT Bar Association, was quoted as saying. “It makes perfect sense that our members would be among the leaders shaping the future of the legal profession.”

Justus will be recognized at the Lavender Law Conference in Miami, Florida, on August 26, 2010. Other awardees include in-house counsel, partners and associates from law firms of all sizes, attorneys working at non-profit organizations, government attorneys, and legal scholars.

The National LGBT Bar Association is an affiliate of the ABA that “promotes justice in and through the legal profession for the LGBT community in all its diversity.”
