Scott's litigation practice focuses on complex matters in the areas of product liability, commercial litigation, employment litigation, construction litigation and other personal injury and wrongful death matters. Scott has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout the country from a variety of industries, including:

  • banking;
  • construction;
  • consumer goods;
  • financial services;
  • fire/burglar alarm system design, installation, maintenance and inspection;
  • healthcare;
  • industrial doors;
  • medical devices;
  • prescription medications;
  • sprinkler system design and installation; and
  • tobacco.

Scott's experience covers every facet of litigation, including development of litigation strategy, fact investigation, taking and defending key depositions, preparation of expert witnesses in various disciplines, preparation of corporate witnesses, trials, appeals and alternative dispute resolution.

Scott is a member of the firm’s Professional Development Committee and Mentoring Task Force, and has led the Tampa Office’s Summer Associate Program for a number of years.

Scott serves on the Board of Directors for the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa. He also provides pro bono legal services to those who can’t afford them in the areas of guardianship and juvenile dependency proceedings.

Scott graduated magna cum laude from Michigan State University – Detroit College of Law. While at MSU, Scott was a senior editor of the law review and received Jurisprudence Achievement Awards for performing at the top of his class in the areas of Civil Procedure, Property, and Conflict of Laws.
