Cari applies her technical expertise in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, and computer science to patent infringement, litigation, offensive/defensive review, patent research, and prosecution matters. Cari received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. Before working at SHB, she held a teaching and research position at the Pennsylvania State University researching Java-based tools to support engineering design. While working on her master's degrees at the University of Michigan, her research focused on orthopaedic issues including tibial implants and mandibular distraction osteogenesis. Her research interests are in the field of engineering design theory and methodology, including computational tools to support engineering design, and interdisciplinary engineering design.
