Marty focuses on the defense of corporations in individual and complex tort and product liability matters. Marty has experience in all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, fact investigation and development, depositions, motion practice, and handling settlement negotiations. Marty has advocated for his clients in mediation and has been a member of numerous case and trial teams that achieved successful results for the client.
Marty is active in the firm’s attorney recruitment efforts and has served as a social chair of Shook’s summer associate program. He also contributes to the firm’s pro bono efforts, including successfully defending minors accused of crimes in family court proceedings.
Before joining Shook, Marty received his law degree from the University of Missouri, where he was a Roberts Scholar. While in law school, Marty was a member of the Phi Delta Phi professional honors fraternity where he served on the Ethics Week Committee. Marty received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in his Products Liability class for receiving the highest overall score in the course.
Prior to law school, Marty received his undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Missouri.
