Larry focuses on patent prosecution and counseling for chemical, semiconductor processing, software and mechanical applications. His areas of practice include client counseling, patent prosecution of U.S. and international patents, conducting infringement and validity analyses, assisting clients with development of IP strategies and patent portfolios, and developing licensing agreements. Larry returned to Shook in 2009 after serving as in-house patent counsel at ExxonMobil Corporation.
Before entering the legal field, Larry’s graduate work toward earning a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry focused on theoretical studies of the structure and reactivity of semiconductor surfaces. After graduate school, Larry worked as a senior chemist at an equipment manufacturer in the semiconductor industry. Larry is an inventor on three U.S. patents for processing of semiconductor substrates.
