Alex litigates complex product liability cases for global pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. He prepares pretrial pleadings, assists with strategy development, prepares company witnesses and analyzes company documents in support of the defense against product liability claims in multidistrict litigation and other complex cases. Alex also provides regulatory compliance counsel to his clients by analyzing potential issues governed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Alex is dedicated to furthering education, awareness and acceptance of transgender people in the United States. While an associate with Shook’s Kansas City office, he established a practice within the firm’s pro bono program to provide legal name and gender-marker changes for low-income transgender clients. Alex also serves as the firm’s representative on the Trans Legal Services Advisory Council, and he holds leadership positions within several transgender-advocacy organizations, including TransLAW and the National Center for Transgender Equality. He is also a member of the Education and Awareness Subcommittee of Shook’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
