Cindy focuses her practice on the analysis of patent portfolios and the analysis of patents for licensing and litigation matters. Before coming to Shook, Cindy worked at Microsoft Corporation where she worked in the Patent Group for a decade, involved in a wide variety of patent matters. She provided analysis of patents for assertion in licensing and litigation matters. She also analyzed patents for acquisition/sale and worked on several patent landscape projects to understand the current state of the technology. In addition, she managed patent prosecution, worked with inventors to determine patentability of their ideas, and oversaw prosecution.
Before turning to law, Cindy spent 15 years as a software programmer, five of those years at Microsoft where she was originally hired as a web/database programmer in the online games group. Before Microsoft, Cindy was the co-founder of a successful dot com that wrote edutainment CD ROM’s until the company transitioned into a web site development company specializing in complex, high-volume, data-driven web applications.
