David focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including copyright, trademark and patent matters. He has worked on all aspects of litigation, from claim response, discovery and pretrial motions through trial. Before attending law school, David worked as a paralegal defending Fortune 500 companies in product liability litigation.
David’s work includes defending Rimini Street against copyright infringement claims related to third-party maintenance of enterprise software. He helped manage fact and expert discovery, prepare witnesses, draft motions and develop trial strategy. David also focused on pursuing a declaratory judgment of non-infringement on behalf of Rimini Street.
In addition to his copyright work, David has litigated patents and conducted trademark infringement investigations for clients. Through his investigations, David is often able to resolve incidents of potential infringement without litigation.
David is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School, a leadership and education program focused on outdoor skills and environmental ethics. David also has a degree in environmental studies from the University of Oregon.
