Jose’s practice focuses on the defense of complex product liability cases.

Before joining Shook, Jose worked for Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., Ryder System, Inc., Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, and the Internal Revenue Service. He also interned in the University of Miami Health Rights Clinic and as a Fellow in the Miami Street Law Program, where he served as a mentor to local high school and middle school students.

While in law school, Jose was one of twenty five students selected nationwide to participate in the inaugural Microsoft-HNBA Intellectual Property Institute in Washington, D.C. 

Jose was born in Cuba and came to Miami with his family when he was twelve years old. He is fluent in Spanish.
