Croft Assesses Recent Developments of Collective Actions in Europe

Shook, Hardy & Bacon London Partner Sarah Croft has authored an article titled “Collective actions in Europe” for the May 2014 issue of The In-House Lawyer. Croft provides an overview of class action law in various European countries and discusses the European Commission’s proposals for a Europe-wide collective redress scheme. She also addresses the Consumer Rights Bill introduced to the U.K. Parliament in January 2014, which would allow private competition damages actions in a scheme that appears to be at odds with the European Commission’s recommendations.
