As toy manufacturers introduce new and innovative toys to the marketplace, it’s imperative for them to ensure their products comply with the myriad of regulatory requirements that may apply, writes Shook Associate/Solicitor Vitor Castro.
Castro authored an article, titled “Playing it Safe: Evolving Regulations For the Toy Industry,” for Sedgwick’s Q2 2023 European Recall Index. In the piece, he discusses the existing legal framework in the European Union ensuring the health and safety of toys, as well as revisions to the framework and proposed legislation surrounding the use of artificial intelligence.
