Justus Honored for Contributions to Human Rights, Kansas City Legal Community

Two organizations honored Shook, Hardy & Bacon Of Counsel Jolie Justus for her contributions to human rights and the Kansas City legal community. The Missouri Commission on Human Rights presented Justus with the 2014 Judge Arnold Krekel Trailblazer Award at its annual Human Rights Conference December 5 in Jefferson City. Named after the official who presided over the 1865 Constitutional Convention and signed the ordinance abolishing slavery in Missouri, the award was presented by Eric Krekel, the great-great-great nephew of Judge Krekel.

The Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City (AWL-KC) named Justus “Woman of the Year” for 2014. Formed in 1976, AWL-KC "promotes the equality of women and others within society in general and within the legal professional in particular."
