Shook, Hardy & Bacon Of Counsel and Missouri State Representative Kevin Corlew recently received the Freshman Legislator of the Year Award for Crime Prevention and Public Safety Issues from Missouri House Speaker Todd Richardson. The award was featured in a May 27 Missouri Lawyers Weekly article.
Corlew authored legislation that would make changes to the state criminal code and revise the standard for the use of physical and deadly force by police officers and sponsored HB1676, a bill proposing to change the state’s admissibility standard for expert testimony in court.
Corlew is currently a member of the House Committee on Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Proceedings. He received the Freshman Legislator of the Year Award for Judicial Issues in 2015.
