Shook, Hardy & Bacon Miami Partner Bert Ocariz’s role as an arbitrator received recognition in a June 20 Law360 article, “Del Monte Wins $32M in Costa Rica Pineapple Contract Row.”
The article features the recent Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. v. Inversiones y Procesadora Tropical SA case, in which arbitrators found that Costa Rica pineapple grower Inversiones breached its contract with Del Monte by continuing to grow a Del Monte pineapple variety, even after quitting its contract.
Ocariz along with Alejandro Ogarrio Ramirez Espana served as arbitrators in this case before the International Chamber of Comerce International Court of Arbitration. Horacio Alberto Grigera Naon presided over the arbitration tribunal.
With years of litigation experience, Shook’s Global Arbitration practice comprises skilled mediators and arbitrators who have served in court-mandated and voluntary mediation and acted as arbitrators under various promulgated and ad hoc rules.
