Balloun’s Pro Bono Practice Featured in KU Alumni Publication

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Partner Gene Balloun is featured in the Fall 2016 edition of KU Law, an alumni magazine produced by the University of Kansas School of Law. The feature highlights Balloun’s 30-year span as a foster parent and his vast pro bono practice dedicated to the advancement and education of children as well as the children and families within the foster care system.

During his law career, Balloun has successfully completed more than 1,200 adoption cases. His work on these cases has also helped in raising more than $800,000 in scholarships for students who have been in the Kansas foster care system. The article also highlights the Johnson County First Amendment Foundation, an organization created by Balloun to educate high school students about their Constitutional rights.
