Shook, Hardy & Bacon Associate Alex Garnick has been named by LGBTQ Nation as one of “The 50 Top Successful Transgender Americans You Should Know.” The list highlights successful and diverse transgender Americans who have pursued careers in government, science, technology, and the law, among other fields.
Garnick is dedicated to promoting transgender equality both at Shook and in his broader community. Within the firm’s pro bono program, he established a practice to provide legal name and gender-marker changes for low-income transgender clients. He is also an active member in numerous transgender-advocacy organizations such as Trans Legal Services Advisory Council and serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the National Center for Transgender Equality.
Garnick’s practice focuses on defending global pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in complex product liability litigation. His work includes strategy development, the preparation of company witnesses and the analysis of company documents in support of the defense against product liability claims in multidistrict litigation and other complex cases.
