Law360 Covers Mims' Move to Shook

Law360 noted the move of Shook Partner Buffy J. Mims from her former firm in an August 10 article, “Shook Hardy Nabs Life Sciences Pro From Hollingsworth.” Mims, a trial attorney with years of experience in product liability and mass tort litigation, joined Shook’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device practice in Washington, D.C., on August 7, 2017. According to the article, “the move was a natural one, as Shook Hardy combines a deep trial bench with strength in life sciences.”

Mims also told Law360 that Shook’s commitment to diversity and inclusion was a factor in her decision. The article quoted her as saying, “Shook has taken a number of steps to advance diversity across the board, which is of course important to me and which I found very impressive.”

In addition to pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, Mims also handles matters in life sciences and biotechnology, government investigations and litigation, and represents corporate clients in business litigation.
