Keane To Command Army Officer and Warrant Officer Candidate Schools

The Kansas Army National Guard has appointed Shook Associate Matt Keane as Commander of the 1st Battalion, 235th Regiment in Salina, where he will be responsible for the Officer Candidate and Warrant Officer Candidate schools. Keane, a lieutenant colonel, will command the schools for 13 states.

The Kansas City Business Journal profiled Keane's promotion in “KC Lawyer's Second Job is Training Officers for Kansas Army National Guard," May 25, 2018.

"I can't think of a better assignment than being responsible for the teaching, coaching and mentoring of the Kansas Army National Guard's next generation of officers and warrant officers," said Keane.

Keane graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served two active duty tours in Iraq; he currently holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. He has received numerous military awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal. Keane left active duty in 2010 to attend the University of Kansas School of Law, and joined Shook in 2013.

Keane is part of Shook's Product Liability Litigation Practice Group.
