Missouri Lawyers Weekly featured Shook Associate Bailey Samuel in the article, “Ice in Her Veins” for her selection to the Emerging Leaders Board of the Kansas City Sports Commission. Bailey, who focuses her practice on litigation for a variety of industries, was often the only female on her ice hockey team during her childhood. In her new role, she looks forward to helping young girls reach their potential and believes the competitive nature of sports can promote women in leadership roles.
“Sports teaches you at a young age to be a team player and to be a voice for your teammates,” Samuel said. “I think it really teaches you to stand up for yourself, and that’s something I don’t think always transfers from men to women in this field.”
