Eppenauer, who is Managing Partner of Shook’s Seattle office, will be a panelist for “High-Tech Patent Litigation Trends: 101 and the Return of Competitor Lawsuits” March 16. The panel will talk about the increase in competitor-based lawsuits in this area, including lawsuits with assertion against open source software.
The next day, Eppenauer will join the panel for “Solutions for the U.S. Patent System,” in a discussion of the core reasons why innovators and funding are shifting away from patent filings in the U.S. in favor of Asia and Africa, and the solutions policymakers and legislators could take to stop the decline.
Houston Partner Sharon Israel will be one of the panelists for “Litigating Patents in Texas: Trends, Best Practices and Differences Between Districts” March 16. The group will explore the realities of litigating in Texas, trends, best practices and the differences among districts.
