Gunawardhana to Speak at Health Law and Policy Class Series

Shook Of Counsel Sonali Gunawardhana, a former FDA attorney, will be a panelist for the virtual class "Hot Topics in Drug and Medical Device Regulation," June 19 from 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. EDT. Gunawardhana will be part of an expert panel discussing the latest legal developments in medical device cybersecurity, orphan drug status, reimbursement for novel therapies and additional drug and medical device regulation topics as time allows. The class will be interactive, with time allotted for Q&A.   

The class is part of a virtual summer class series lunch-and-learn program, with three separate classes on health law and policy topics. The other classes are "Health Care Fraud and Abuse: Trends, Challenges and Opportunities," May 29, and "Artificial Intelligence and Health Care: The Intersection of Science and Law," July 8. The American Health Law Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science are co-sponsors of this free legal education series in conjunction with the American University Washington College of Law. Classes will be conducted via Zoom, and registration is required.
