Shook Of Counsel Authors International Arbitration Chapter

Shook International Arbitrator and Litigation Counsel Ricardo Ampudia was selected to author a chapter in 40 Under 40 International Arbitration (2021). The book is authored by 40 young international arbitration practitioners, chosen from across the globe, and covers the life cycle of an arbitration from the arbitration clause to enforcement of arbitral awards.

Ampudia’s chapter, “Document Production Requests in Investment Treaty Arbitration: Considerations for Parties and Practitioners,” examines certain principles that parties in an investment treaty arbitration should bear in mind to increase the effectiveness of their requests for documents during the document exchange phase of proceedings. The chapter provides a list of practical observations for parties and their counsel to consider before and during exchanges for document requests.

Ampudia has lectured on international commercial arbitration at Georgetown Law, and is co-founder of the Georgetown International Arbitration Alumni group.
