The Denver Bar Association has selected Shook Associate Liz Hutchinson as the new chair of its Young Lawyers Division. The Division connects Denver attorneys through social and community service events as well as professional development opportunities.
Hutchinson came to Shook from a public service background including environmental justice and indigenous rights. At Shook, she is committed to pro bono work to champion the causes of marginalized community members. Hutchinson sees her new appointment as chair of the Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division as a way to encourage pro bono efforts, working with young attorneys and recent graduates in the Denver area.
“I wanted to run for chair to see that mission through⸺particularly after COVID,” Hutchinson said. “This is a time to step into leadership and rebuild community. I can’t wait for all that we can accomplish together over the 2021–2022 year.”
The Docket, the Denver Bar Association’s publication, introduces Hutchinson in a two-page feature in its 2021 summer edition.
