Shook Of Counsel to Moderate Antitrust Diversity Pipeline Panel

Shook Of Counsel Steve Vieux will serve as moderator for the panel, “Diversity in the Antitrust Bar: Is It Truly a Pipeline Problem?” May 5, 3:15-4:15 p.m. PT, in San Francisco. Vieux will be moderating a panel consisting of Laura Wilkerson, Paypal; Heather Nyong’O, Cleary Gottlieb; Qianwei Fu, Zelle LLP; and Jeff Negrette, Antitrust Division, Department of Justice.

The session description is as follows: “The antitrust bar—including law firms, in-house legal departments, and government agencies—has adopted goals and policies to prioritize diversity. But the retention and promotion of diverse competition attorneys, especially in key roles, remain deeply problematic. Does the problem stem from the pipeline, policies, the lack of genuine commitment to diversify, or something else? What types of measures have various law firms, corporates, and the public sector taken to diversify their antitrust practices, and with what results? Panelists will share their insights.”

The presentation is part of the California Lawyers Association’s Golden State Antitrust and UCL Institute and is available for MCLE: 1.0 Hour Elimination of Bias credit.
