Lauren’s practice focuses on general liability and business litigation matters including bankruptcy and creditors’ rights and commercial recoveries. Lauren has extensive experience managing and litigating cases from inception to conclusion in state and federal courts in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Before joining Shook, Lauren managed and litigated general liability, medical malpractice, insurance defense, contract disputes and other commercial matters. She also defended health care providers in professional disciplinary proceedings. 

After earning her J.D., Lauren served as a clerk for the Hon. J. Barry Hughes (Retd) of the Circuit Court for Carroll County, Maryland. During law school, Lauren interned for the Hon. Marcella A. Holland (Retd) of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and worked as a law clerk for a criminal defense firm. Lauren served as a Rule 16 student attorney in the University of Baltimore Disability Law Clinic, where she represented patients in involuntary civil commitment hearings before an administrative law judge. Lauren was also a Snyder Litigation Center Student Fellow and she served as treasurer of the University of Baltimore Health Law Association and as a law student board member of the Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center (MCVRC).
