Jorge is a skilled intellectual property attorney with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He represents clients in software patents, patent prosecution, patent analysis and invention. 

Previously Jorge worked as a patent attorney for IBM, where he drafted and prosecuted patent applications in a broad range of technologies with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. His accomplishments include conducting open source compliance analysis by reviewing open source code and the corresponding licensing agreements and performing patent portfolio assessments and viability reviews of issued patents by analyzing the field of technology, the allowed claims and the prosecution history of the patents. He also selected and directed outside counsel in preparing and prosecuting cybersecurity-related patent applications, reviewed and managed the work product produced by the outside counsel, and served as lead counsel on an invention review board involving cybersecurity-related invention disclosures. Additional duties included conducting patent non-infringement analysis along with invalidity patent analysis for adversely held patents for potential licensing agreements.

Before his legal career, Jorge was a police officer for the Houston Police Department. When not practicing law, Jorge enjoys constructing desktop computers and adding modifications to enhance performance.
