Stephanie’s practice primarily focuses on the defense of complex product liability cases, including medical device and smoking-and-health-related lawsuits.
As an associate on case teams that handle smoking-and-health cases in Florida, Stephanie is responsible for the pretrial preparation of numerous cases. Her responsibilities include developing overall case strategy, ensuring compliance with pretrial deadlines, responding to pleadings, and responding to and drafting written discovery requests.
Stephanie also spends a significant amount of time analyzing and briefing complex legal issues as an associate in Shook’s Legal Issues Group. Stephanie has drafted pretrial and post-trial briefs in many smoking-and-health cases. She also provides remote legal issues support to trial teams in smoking-and-health cases.
As a member of multiple trial teams, Stephanie has experience preparing trial strategy plans, opening statements, closing arguments, cross-examinations and deposition designations.
Stephanie graduated from the University of Miami School of Law magna cum laude and is a member of the Order of the Coif. During law school, Stephanie served as an executive editor on the University of Miami Law Review. In addition, she served as a judicial intern for The Hon. Edwin G. Torres, Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Stephanie also completed an internship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
