Zach uses his extensive background in science and technology for the preparation and prosecution of utility applications. His undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral experience involved overcoming biological and medicinal challenges through the use of synthetic organic chemistry. After earning his doctorate, Zach entered academe and taught for 10 years, reaching the rank of full professor at Nevada State College. His academic research focused on the development of novel fluorophore systems and molecular probes. Zach's research interests are in synthetic organic chemistry, drug design/development, interactions of light with matter, and molecular biology, though he handles intellectual property from a range of different technological areas.
