Newstead and Ratliff served as contributing editors for the publication and partnered to write the Global Overview, identifying global trends and providing brief updates on product recall litigation and regulation in the United States, Europe and China. In addition, Newstead authored the European Overview and a chapter on product recalls in the United Kingdom, in which she provides an overview of Europe's General Product Safety Directive and UK-specific regulations. Ratliff and Ross co-authored the United States chapter, focusing on regulations set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Food and Drug Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Among other things, the edition addresses supply chain traceability requirements for foods, beverages and consumer products, as well as legislation and regulations governing recall and reporting requirements for these industry sectors.
