Miami Partners Selected ‘Best of the Bar’

John Barkett and John McNally, Partners in Shook, Hardy & Bacon’s Miami office, have been selected by their peers to the South Florida Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar,” which recognizes South Florida attorneys for their dedication to excellence in the field of law.

Barkett is a commercial litigator (employment, trademark and antitrust) and environmental litigator (CERCLA, RCRA and toxic tort). For the past several years, he has served as an arbitrator, mediator, facilitator or allocator in a variety of substantive contexts. He was recently appointed to serve as the Special Master to oversee the implementation and enforcement of the 1992 Consent Decree between the United States and the State of Florida relating to the restoration of the Florida Everglades. He has successfully mediated or arbitrated a large number of environmental and commercial disputes as well.

McNally has experience in a wide variety of environmental law areas, including regulatory compliance, enforcement and administrative proceedings; environmental permitting and performance of environmental assessments; and audits related to corporate and real estate transactions and related financing requirements. He has also been involved as a speaker on a variety of environmental topics and issues at conferences during the past 12 years.

Barkett and McNally will be honored at the South Florida Business Journal’s 2nd Annual Best of the Bar Honoree Breakfast on April 29 at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. They will also be featured in the 2004 Best of the Bar special section, which will be distributed at the honoree breakfast and inserted into the April 30 issue of the South Florida Business Journal.
