SHB Attorneys Co-Author Article

Shook, Hardy & Bacon attorneys Lorin E. Patterson and Edward S. Stevens have co-authored an article titled “Hospitals vs. Doctors: The Problem of Economic Credentialing” in the inaugural issue of Missouri Medical Law Report, a publication of Lawyers Weekly, Inc. The article describes the trend occurring nationwide in which hospitals threaten to revoke the medical staff privileges of physicians who acquire interests in non-affiliated health care facilities.

Patterson practices business, corporate, commercial and securities law, with an emphasis on health care joint venture formation, planning and development. Stevens practices in the corporate and regulatory area, with particular emphasis on health care facility joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and fraud and abuse compliance counseling.
