Barkett Raises Record Amount for Miami MDA

Partner John Barkett (Miami-Tort) raised approximately $9,000 as a jailbird in the fundraising event, Brickell Jingle Bell Lock-Up, sponsored by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on December 18, 2006 in Miami, Fla.  John and other business executive jailbirds were locked up in a mock jail where they received one hour to raise "bail" by calling associates, friends and family.

John's efforts made him the top-ranked fundraiser for the event, and was also the highest amount that had ever been raised for the annual event.  Contributions received by the Lock-Up will be used to send South Florida children to a week long summer camp,  provide medical devices to those suffering from the illness, and assist in research at the University of Miami School of Medicine.  For more information on the MDA visit www.mdausa.org.
