BARKETT, ERICKSON, PRATT PRESENT AT JOINT CLE SUMMIT
Partners John Barkett (Miami-Tort), Dave Erickson (KC-Tort), and Tim Pratt (KC-PMDLD) were all featured speakers at the recent ABA Section of Litigation Joint CLE Summit meeting in Snowbird, Utah. Attended by over 180 lawyers from across the country, the annual meeting was co-sponsored by the Environmental Litigation, Product Liability Litigation, and Mass Torts Litigation Committees of the ABA Section of Litigation.
John Barkett provided 1 hour of CLE ethics credit to attendees when he presented a new paper entitled “Ethics: Conflicts of Interests, Informed Consent and Motions to Disqualify – Has Model Rule 1.7 Materially Changed the Law.” Dave Erickson served as panel moderator for a discussion about the overlap and interrelationship between toxic tort litigation with neighbors and investigation and remediation of contamination at industrial sites. The panel discussion was entitled “Environmental Remediation and Toxic Tort Litigation: Keeping the Two Connected.” Tim Pratt provided a 1 hour program specially targeted at young lawyers “Making the Right Pitch – How to Make it to the Big Leagues by Avoiding a Rain Delay.”
