KC Business Journal Features SHB Part-Time Policy

SHB Partner Marie Woodbury discusses a new firm policy that allows part-time associates to remain on track for partnership in a recent article appearing in the Kansas City Business Journal.  According to Woodbury, "This is a recognition that there are many, many young lawyers out there who are talented and juggling a lot in life.  We believe we hire the best and the brightest, and we want to keep the best and the brightest.  We think to try to accommodate them is a smart business decision."  The article highlights the case of SHB Of Counsel Angela Seaton, who joined the firm in 1998 and left the partnership track to have children, a choice she and others will no longer have to make since the firm adopted the policy on January 1, 2007.  To read the article, please click here.
