Articles Recognize SHB's Corporate Practice Plans
Recent legal and business journal articles explore the firm's ongoing efforts to expand and market its corporate practice. Partner Carol Poindexter discussed the firm's recruiting efforts with the Missouri Lawyers Weekly, noting that a consulting firm had been hired to help with strategy and interview lateral recruiting firms that will be looking for teams of attorneys to add to this practice area. She pointed to her successful effort to bring Partner David Douglass to the firm and the firm's commitment to competitive salaries and support for presentations, sponsorships and publications. SHB Chair John Murphy said that the firm is focused on growing its corporate practice in all city offices. The Kansas City Business Journal reported the firm's recent growth with the addition of two partners and 21 associates. Murphy described the corporate practice as "young" and "energetic" and said that lateral hires in addition to PartnerĀ Pat Henderson and Of Counsel Tim Kuester were being considered. Poindexter and Murphy both emphasized that the firm is making steady, long-term progress toward its corporate practice goal.
