Saikali Quoted on SEC’s Cybersecurity Initiative in Law360 Article

Shook, Hardy & Bacon Data Security and Privacy Practice Co-Chair Al Saikali provided commentary for an April 17, 2014, Law360 article titled “How To Avoid SEC’s Coming Cybersecurity Crackdown.” Responding to news that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken steps to make cybersecurity an examination priority in 2014, particularly with respect to banking and financial institutions, Saikali recommended that consideration be given to convening a task force of legal and IT professionals, outside counsel and HR personnel to determine how prepared a company would be to respond to SEC’s information requests on cybersecurty preparedness. He said, “Deficiencies should be identified and tasks created and assigned to address why there is a deficiency and whether and how the company should address it.”
