Shook Orange County Welcomes Two Litigators From Callahan & Blaine

ORANGE COUNTY (July 19, 2016) – Shook Hardy & Bacon’s Orange County, Calif., office welcomes Partner Marc P. Miles and Of Counsel Kristy A. Schlesinger, who joined the firm July 1 and July 13, respectively. Both join the firm’s Business Litigation and Corporate Services group.

Miles and Schlesinger both come to Shook from Callahan & Blaine, a well-known California litigation firm based in Santa Ana, Calif.

Shook’s recent growth in commercial litigation capabilities includes the addition of a Chicago office in 2015 and a Denver office in 2014. Both offices were former commercial litigation boutiques (Grippo & Elden in Chicago, Sander Ingebretsen & Wake in Denver).

About Marc P. Miles

Miles focuses his practice on complex business, intellectual property, product liability and employment litigation and has successfully tried high-profile and high-stakes cases, including multimillion-dollar disputes, as well as arguing appeals before state and federal courts. He also handles a variety of complex appeals, including successfully arguing before the federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Active in the legal community, he is the former Chair of the Business Litigation Section of the Orange County Bar Association and is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (Orange County).  Miles has been recognized by Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. He received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law and his B.A. in Criminology and Law & Science from the University of California, Irvine.

About Kristy A. Schlesinger

Schlesinger focuses her practice on high-value and complex business litigation with experience advising clients on an array of disputes regarding commercial, product liability, employment, real estate and intellectual property matters. Having formerly worked as general counsel for a real estate capital corporation, she brings a unique perspective as it relates to unifying litigation goals with business objectives. Schlesinger has served as Chair of the Business Litigation Section of the Orange County Bar Association and has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Los Angeles Magazine’s “Top LA Women Lawyers” and by the Orange County Bar Association for “Outstanding Service as the 2016 OCBA Business Litigation Section Chair”. She received her J.D. from California Western School of Law and her B.A. cum laude from Northern Arizona University
