Saikali, Harmon Speak at Sedona Working Group on Data Security, Privacy
Shook, Hardy & Bacon Partners Al Saikali and Bill Harmon hold prominent roles at the 2016 Sedona Conference® Working Group 11 Meeting on Data Security and Privacy Liability, scheduled for August 10-11, 2016, on Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, Washington.
As co-chair of the working group, Saikali welcomes participants to the conference, leads a mock data breach exercise involving a ransomware scenario, and leads a session to discuss the group's priorities and focus.
Harmon leads a panel discussion on privacy by design, which covers integrating principles of privacy into the design of a product, including how to address changes in customer and regulator expectations over the product’s life cycle.
Saikali is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He maintains the Data Security Law Journal blog and serves on the International Association of Privacy Professionals’ Education Advisory Board and Law360’s Privacy & Consumer Protection Editorial Advisory Board.
Before joining Shook in 2014, Harmon served as Assistant General Counsel at Microsoft, where he worked in patent litigation, digital crimes, global standards and intellectual property. He now counsels clients on intellectual property and cybersecurity litigation.
