Shearer and Zito Present at ACC Mid-America CLE

Shook, Hardy & Bacon partners Rick Shearer and Mike Zito covered the CLE presentation of “Legal Recoveries: Best Practices for Revenue Generation by the Law Department” for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Mid-America Chapter on December 14, 2016 at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City, Missouri.

The presentation aims to identify opportunities and discuss strategies for in-house counsel to reduce spend and generate revenue while aligning a legal department’s work with the financial goals of the organization. Zito and Shearer discussed contract and warranty compliance with external vendors; challenges to real estate assessments; class action disbursements, bankruptcy filings and unclaimed property; collections from customers and vendor overpayments; centralized processing and management of third party subpoenas; and liability for operational disruptions resulting in lost production or damages.
