McDonough Featured Among Kansas City Law Firm Leaders

KC Counselor has featured Shook, Hardy & Bacon Chair Madeleine McDonough in “Leading the Way,” a profile of women law firm leaders in Kansas City. According to the article, “McDonough said lawyers in her firm work very hard to ‘anticipate, navigate, and prepare clients’ to handle their rapidly changing legal needs, whether those needs involve ‘gene editing,’ ‘artificial intelligence,’ or ‘autonomous automobiles.’”

To this end, McDonough emphasized the importance of communication, collaboration and inclusion, especially as new technologies present new challenges and opportunities for both lawyers and their clients. Highlighting the professional growth offered by participation on firm committees and task forces, she also acknowledged the need “to address discrimination directly when possible… Sometimes just a candid conversation can lead to greater awareness and reconciliation.”
