Shook Partner Laura Whitmore Appointed to Supreme Court of Florida Jury Instruction Committee

The Supreme Court of Florida has appointed Shook Partner Laura Whitmore to serve as Chair of the Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. The committee recommends to the Supreme Court amendments and revisions in standard jury instructions. Whitmore will serve a two-year term beginning January 1, 2018.

Whitmore has been active with the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases since 2011 and currently serves as committee vice-chair. She defends companies in product liability actions and complex litigation throughout Florida’s state and federal courts. Her practice includes appeals briefing and oral arguments throughout the state as well as all aspects of litigation including drafting and arguing dispositive motions, pre-trial motions, jury instructions and post-trial motions.
